Me and Earl and The Dying Girl Poster Analysis

I chose to analysis the Me and Earl and the Dying Girl poster because it is the type of film that I would like to set out to make with my trailer. The poster is quite minimalistic which i think relates to the blunt title and tagline, I think the makers of the film wanted the issue of cancer to be addressed but not in an overly emotional way and I want to follow in their footsteps. I think the poster is effective as the secretive pictures in the background link to the plot, which rewards audiences with a sneak peek to the storyline. The character's personalities are shown as they are hunched eating ice cream, showing teenage qualities. 

I like this poster because it is minimal but also shows a lot about the storyline and characters in a clever way. I will consider using these techniques in my own poster.
